Classroom Rotations will be done on a monthly schedule for classes. Each teacher will sign up for a 45 minute spot for Mrs. Brooks to come into the class. Lessons deal with subjects such as STAR Qualities, Kelso's Choice (to include Problem Solving), Empathy, Careers & Work Habits, Anger Management, Tattling vs. Reporting, Stranger Danger, Responsibility, Goal Setting and Learning Styles and many other subjects!
We encourage all of our students and adults at
Neabsco to use the S.T.A.R.S strategy to communicate positively with others,
and to apply it to their academic pursuits. S.T.A.R.S stands for: Scholars
Treat others with Kindness
Themselves and Others
We have a character building program at Neabsco
called Shinning STARS!
Each staff member has business cards in their ID badge holders
with the 6 pillars of STAR character. If they see a child performing a
"random act of kindness" they can award them a shining star card.
Each day the students who have earned one shining star are asked to stand up in
class and be recognized during the afternoon announcements. On Friday, teacher’s
will be asked to draw one name of the students who won a star card for the week
and they will win a bag of popcorn.
