A graduate of Southampton High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Old Dominion University and both a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University. As a National Board Certified Teacher in Exceptional Needs, Theress brings extensive experience in education, having served as a special education teacher, interventionist, instructional leader, and school administrator.
Throughout her career, she has worked in Southampton County Public Schools, Prince George's County Public Schools (Maryland), Alexandria City Public Schools, Spotsylvania County Public Schools, and Prince William County Public Schools. These diverse experiences have provided her with a deep understanding of effective instructional practices, intervention strategies, special education programming, and school leadership. She is passionate about collaborating with students, families, educators, and community stakeholders to create inclusive learning environments where all students have access to high-quality educational opportunities and are empowered to achieve their full potential.
I am an experienced educational leader and Assistant Principal at Neabsco Elementary School with over 20 years of experience in education. I am passionate about supporting student achievement, fostering inclusive learning environments, and building strong partnerships with families, staff, and the community. I am committed to instructional excellence, data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the success of all learners, including students with disabilities. Throughout my career, I have worked collaboratively with teachers and staff to promote professional growth, create a positive school culture, and provide meaningful learning experiences for every student.
Outside of school, I am a devoted wife and proud mother of four children. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and love traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures. These personal and professional experiences have shaped my commitment to supporting children, building strong relationships, and helping students reach their full potential both academically and socially.
