Vision
The vision of the Neabsco Elementary School Counseling Department is for every student to grow as a resilient, empathetic, and empowered learner who embraces inclusivity, mindfulness, and responsibility. Through a supportive and comprehensive counseling program, we envision our Neabsco Stars thriving as emotionally intelligent, socially conscious individuals who contribute meaningfully to their communities and confidently navigate the challenges of a diverse and evolving world.
At Neabsco Elementary School, we are inspiring a generation of confident, creative, and compassionate learners, our Neabsco Stars, who reflect the strength of their individuality and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Aligned with the Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) vision, we guide every student on a path toward on-time graduation, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and habits of mind essential to shape a successful future.
Our students shine through their resilience, meeting challenges head-on and welcoming diverse perspectives with curiosity and courage. We celebrate their innovative thinking and foster a school culture where every voice is valued. As ethical and critical thinkers, they are fully prepared to transition into secondary education and beyond.
With the dedicated support of a caring and well-informed counseling team, Neabsco Stars strengthen the core values that guide their choices and shape them into globally minded citizens. They are prepared not only for academic achievement but for the emotional intelligence and leadership required to flourish in today’s dynamic world.
At Neabsco, we believe our students don’t just reach for the stars—they become them.
Mission
At Neabsco Elementary School, our school counseling department stands as a trusted partner and advocate for student success. Through meaningful collaboration with students, families, staff, and the broader community, together, we ensure that every child is supported, empowered, and inspired to thrive- reaching for the stars with confidence and purpose.
The mission of Neabsco's school counseling team is to support the academic, social-emotional, and career development of all students through a comprehensive, equitable, and data-informed counseling program. We are dedicated to removing barriers and closing achievement and access gaps by providing targeted interventions, responsive services,
and essential resources, developed hand-in-hand with families, educators, and community partners. Through these collective efforts, we foster critical thinking, resilience, and responsible decision-making to prepare every student for a successful transition into secondary education and beyond.
In alignment with Prince William County Public Schools’ commitment to inclusion, equity, and excellence, we empower our students to grow as ethical digital citizens, empathetic leaders, and global collaborators, ready to meet the opportunities and challenges of a diverse and changing world.
The Neabsco School Counselors proudly model the STARS Essentials: Safety comes first, Treat others with respect, Achieve and always try your best, Responsibility for your actions, and Spread positivity. These guiding principles help students cultivate the skills, mindsets, and habits needed to shape meaningful futures for themselves and their communities. Through this intentional focus, we help every student shine brightly, not only as a STARS role model at Neabsco, but as a lifelong learner and compassionate leader wherever their journey may take them.
